Syra is built on the belief that your private conversations deserve real protection. We collect only what we need to make the app work — and we never sell your data.
1. Who We Are
Syra ("the app", "we", "us", "our") is developed and operated by NeuralNotions. The app is available on Google Play under the package name com.syra.ai. For any privacy concerns, contact us at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use Syra:
- Account information — your email address and password (stored securely and never in plain text)
- Profile information — your name, selected personality preference, chosen response language, and interests you share during onboarding
- Conversation data — messages you send to Syra and responses generated by the AI, used to provide the service and maintain conversation context
- Mood logs — mood entries you record within the app
- Memories — moments or notes you save or that are captured during conversation
- Device information — basic technical data such as device type and operating system version, used for debugging and service improvement
We do not collect your location, contacts, camera data, or any information beyond what is listed above.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Provide and personalise the Syra experience
- Maintain conversation history and context so Syra can remember what matters to you
- Improve the quality and reliability of the app
- Send you service-related communications (never marketing without consent)
- Respond to support requests or account deletion requests
We do not use your data to train third-party AI models, serve advertisements, or sell to any third parties.
4. AI & Conversation Processing
Syra uses AI to generate responses to your messages. Your conversations are processed by our AI service providers under strict data processing agreements. Conversation content may be temporarily processed on external servers to generate responses but is not retained by AI providers beyond what is necessary to complete each request.
Syra is a companion app, not a mental health service. Conversations with Syra should not replace professional psychological, medical, or crisis support.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted database provider with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). We take appropriate technical measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share limited data only with:
- Service providers — third-party vendors who assist us in operating the app (database hosting, AI inference), bound by confidentiality obligations
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting the app and requesting account deletion

8. Account Deletion
You can request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. See our Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions. Upon a valid deletion request, we will permanently remove your data within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
Syra is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify you within the app.
